The Educational Research and Development Society has launched the Talent Search Scholarship Exam as a special initiative to support and recognize meritorious students across West Bengal. This exam aims to identify and nurture students' talents by assessing their subject knowledge, mental ability, and language skills through structured tests like SAT (Subject Ability Test), MAT (Mental Ability Test), and LAT (Language Ability Test). It provides a comprehensive evaluation of a student’s academic strengths and weaknesses. After the exam, each participant receives a computerized report card detailing their performance, which helps them understand their capabilities and areas that need improvement. This program not only encourages academic growth but also prepares students for various competitive examinations such as those for banking, railways, SSC, PSC, WBCS, IAS, and IPS. Successful candidates are awarded certificates, medals, and scholarships that serve as both motivation and support. The exam is made accessible in multiple languages to ensure equal opportunity for students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Furthermore, it benefits teachers and educational institutions by offering them tools and training to support student development.
